·
System
Integration team must have a clear understanding of the client’s
vision
·
In
order to implement and integrate systems quickly, the workstreams
must work together to define and agree on how key components will
be configured in each system(customers, products, physical assets
etc)
Workstream
deliverables are created iteratively. As more is learned, further
detail is documented
·
Individuals
from each workstream must be involved in the design of the systems
architecture
·
One
of the primary areas of integration is orders. Until orders are
clearly defined, it is extremely difficult to configure and integrate
them between the applications. Orders are primarily made up of products
and customers:
·
Products:
clarity
surrounding the detail behind how their products will be designed,
delivered and maintained. Client’s will push back saying that
if they want to offer new products in a fast and flexible manner,
detail design is irrevelevant. This is untrue. A clear understanding
of the products and customers is essential to create a basis for
future product configuration
·
Customers:
clarity surrounding customer hierarchies, specifically related
to who gets the service and who pays the bill
